Welcome Corie to the CK Team

What is your new role at ColinKurtis?

I’m the new Senior Account Director at ColinKurtis. Translation? I’m the go-to for keeping the big picture in focus while making sure no detail gets left off the plate. I partner closely with our clients and internal teams to serve up creative strategies that are as smart as they are effective.

What does a typical day look like?

Very full and never quite the same! Since I’m based on the West Coast and most of my teammates are Midwestern or Eastern Time folks, my day starts early (coffee is non-negotiable—sometimes two cups before the kids even wake up). After launching my three kids into their day, I jump into meetings, project planning and creative collaboration. From infographics and rebrands to social media campaigns and full-on website builds, I’m constantly toggling between big-picture strategy and in-the-weeds details. Every day is a new recipe.

What part of your role do you enjoy the most?

The variety! I love working across a diverse mix of clients and projects—it keeps me learning and on my toes. Each brand brings a new flavor to the table, and I get to work with a brilliant team to help transform complex product stories into clear, craveable messaging. There’s nothing more satisfying than helping clients stand out in a competitive market and feel truly understood.

Can you tell us a little about your professional background?

I’ve been in marketing for 15 years, with the past 11 focused on the food ingredient space. My specialty? Food gums and hydrocolloids (yes, I’m that kind of nerd, and proud of it). Most of my experience is on the client side, which gives me a solid understanding of what brands really need. I’ve worked on everything from trade show planning and media relations to website development and product launches. My industry network runs deep, and I genuinely love connecting with food scientists to learn about cutting-edge innovations—especially when there’s taste testing involved.

How do you enjoy spending your time outside the office?

I’m fully immersed in my baseball/softball era right now. All three of our kids play, and our two boys juggle both rec and travel teams. I also coach our daughter’s softball team (Go Storm!) and absolutely love being part of these girls’ growth—not just as athletes, but as confident, compassionate young leaders. If I’m not coaching or cheering from the sidelines, we’re watching the Seattle Mariners or ripping open packs of baseball cards like it’s our job. In our house, it’s always game time.

What did you want to be when you grew up (before you knew you would have a career in marketing)?

I wanted to be an artist. I still love drawing and painting whenever I can find a quiet moment (which, let’s be honest, is rare these days). That creative spirit definitely paved the way to a marketing career—I may have traded in my sketchpad for creative briefs, but the drive to make things beautiful, impactful and meaningful is still what motivates me.
